Can I clean my dental appliance with a toothbrush?Updated 4 months ago

We do not recommend using a toothbrush to clean your Aligner, Retainer, Guard or Dentures. Whilst it may help remove some debris, you are unlikely to get into all the nooks, crannies and crevices. Furthermore, you will not kill the bacteria and therefore your appliance will remain unsterilized. 

The scrubbing motion and bristles can actually cause damage to the surface of your appliance. The scratches can then facilitate the growth of additional bacteria as well as making the cloudy looking. This is not only unsightly but can lead to irritation and even infection.
